Children's Hour

Powwow season is here! Now through the end of August at Children's Hour, we're focusing on all things Powwow! Have you ever been to a powwow? Well August is a good month to check one out. Want to know what to expect? This week we'll learn all about powwow traditions and share some important tips on powwow etiquette and what you should know when you visit one of these traditional celebrations!

Children's Hour at Tomaquag Museum is a FREE public program held every Wednesday morning from 10:00-11:00 am for children of all ages. Each week features a different interactive lesson. Through music, dance, storytelling, crafts and Narragansett language, museum educators focus on Indigenous New England history, culture and art.

Thank you to our sponsors from the Washington Trust Company and Rhode Island State Council for the Arts! For more information, contact us at 401-491-9063 or email slarose@tomaquagmuseum.org.
