The era of the American Revolution presented Indigenous people with multiple challenges as well as opportunities to assert freedom, defend land, and protect community interests through wartime involvement. In this presentation, Fisher will first introduce the larger themes of his forthcoming book, Stealing America, before illustrating the actions of Native individuals and communities as they made decisions to shape their individual and collective futures.
