Tomaquag Museum Presents: Home School Units

Native American Units of Study presented by Lorén Spears, MsEd., (Narragansett/Niantic), Executive Director of Tomaquag Museum, Founder of Nuweetooun School, Educator, Curriculum developer, Storyteller, Artist, Two term Tribal Councilwoman, Traditional dancer, Narragansett Language Committee member and Oral historian. She has over 25 years of teaching experience in public, private, and museum educational settings. She has vast experience with multi-age and multi-grade teaching.

These units of study are four two and 1/2 hour lessons each (Can be adjusted to accommodate ages, needs and depth of study). They include interactive lessons, cooperative learning opportunities, and inquiry based explorations. There will be integration of other content areas such as reading, writing, math, science, health, and art; as well as follow up lesson plans and activities for groups. Exhibits, slide shows, short films and other cultural items will be utilized to enhance topics, as appropriate.

Each lesson is $20 per person at Tomaquag Museum and $25 per person at your site (within a 30 mile radius)  price includes all materials.  We have a 10 participant minimum. Book multiple sessions and receive a discount.
