New Exhibition: "Revolution to Reclamation, Freedom through Indigenous Sovereignty"
What does freedom mean—and who was it meant for? Revolution to Reclamation centers on Indigenous voices and perspectives to reframe America’s 250th anniversary with clarity and depth.
This exhibition moves beyond Revolution-era commemoration to connect past and present through land, freedom, responsibility, and enduring Indigenous presence. Returning visitors will scarcely recognize the completely reimagined space.
Open Wednesdays 10:00 – 5:00 PM, Saturdays 10:00 – 2:00 PM, and by appointment.
Little Free Library to Expand Access to Indigenous Literature
The Tomaquag Museum has welcomed a small but impactful new addition to its campus: a Little Free Library. While the museum’s non-circulating reference library includes more than 1,500 publications, this miniature outdoor library significantly expands public access to Indigenous-authored and Indigenous-centered books beyond the museum walls.
New Exhibition: “Revolution to Reclamation, Freedom through Indigenous Sovereignty”
A completely re-imagined museum gallery at Tomaquag Museum means return visitors will barely recognize the site. Tomaquag Museum's new exhibit, "Revolution to Reclamation, Freedom through Indigenous Sovereignty" opened on April 22nd, 2026 to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the United States.
